Bovine Pneumonia or Respiratory Disease is a multifactorial syndrome. It is responsible for up to 75% of morbidity in feedlot cattle and is of of considerable economic significance in feedlots.
The disease is responsible for a high mortality rate and the condemnation of infected carcasses at slaughter.
Cefquinome
Cefquinome, a 4th generation cephalosporin, is the active ingredient in the Cobactan range.
Cefquinome acts by inhibition of bacterial cell wall synthesis. Low concentrations ensure the destruction of targeted bacteria. Efficacy against major mastitis and Bovine Pneumonia pathogens has been clearly demonstrated.
